This policy explains what we do with your personal information when you visit or buy from ruacollection.com.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Rua Collection. Email help@ruacollection.com about anything in this policy.

What we collect

Order details — your name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number, and what you bought.
Payment information — handled by our payment providers. We receive confirmation that payment succeeded and the last four digits of the card. We never see or store your full card number.
Account details — if you create an account, your login details and saved addresses.
Messages — anything you send us.
Device and usage data — IP address, browser, and which pages you viewed.

We need your name, delivery address and email to fulfil an order. Without them we can't accept one. Everything else is optional.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

To fulfil your order — necessary to perform our contract with you.
Customer service — performance of the contract and our legitimate interest in running the shop properly.
Fraud prevention and site security — our legitimate interests.
Tax and accounting records — a legal obligation.
Marketing and advertising cookies — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

We don't make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Who we share it with

Shopify — hosts this store and processes orders on our behalf.
Payment providers — Shopify Payments, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, depending on how you pay.
CJ Dropshipping and its carriers — our fulfilment partner. To send you your order, we pass on your name, delivery address and phone number. CJ Dropshipping is based in China, so this involves transferring your delivery details outside the European Economic Area. These transfers are made under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Pinterest — we use the Pinterest tag to measure advertising. It only runs where you have consented to advertising cookies.
Zoho — provides our email. Messages you send us are stored on Zoho's European servers.

We do not sell your personal information.

International transfers

As set out above, fulfilling your order requires sending your delivery details outside the EEA. Some of our other providers also store data outside the EEA. Where that happens we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records are kept for six years to meet tax and accounting obligations. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Website analytics data is kept for a shorter period.

Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for the site and basket to work, and — with your consent — analytics and advertising cookies including the Pinterest tag. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time, and you can block cookies in your browser settings.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal information, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email help@ruacollection.com and we'll respond within one month.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority — ours is the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie), and you may instead complain to the authority in your own country.
